Hello folks,
Now that I've figured out how to log back in (DOH!!!) I can actually post a new blog.
I want your opinion on something. This is a tumultuous time for the Republican party. The Republican party has an assumed nominee in John McCain. *Side Note* - If those conservatives voting in countrywide primaries and caucuses had done their homework prior to voting; the conservative vote would not have been fractured between Mitt Romney, Huckabee, Giuliani, and Fred Thompson. That simple fact is what brought us John McCain. The party would be United behind a Fred Thompson nominee. No doubt about that. And he would trounce any democrat running.* Ok side note aside, things aren't that easy any more. We are stuck with John McCain. The choice is this - Do we vote Federalist Party? Constitution Party? (something I have seriously considered) Or do we hold our noses, and unite behind a man who 90% of the time has sided with democrats? Whats worse, is he sponsored McCain-Feingold which hinders free speech during an election cycle. He sponsored McCain-Kennedy (that should tell you something there) which has been termed "The Amnesty Open-Borders Act". He voted in favor of embryonic stem cell research, and was not wholeheartedly supportive of confirming justice Alito. He has made statements suggesting he would appoint judges who would overturn Roe v. Wade (which is a good thing). He is a genuine war hero, like my Dad (unlike John Kerry). I know for sure that he would do the right thing when it comes to fighting Islamo-Fascists. But do we risk dissolving our borders and shredding the constitution (in the name of the GOP) just to keep a democrat out of office? I think i've just convinced myself otherwise. I say, let Liberalism be done in the name of Liberalism, not Liberalism done in the name of Conservatism. I don't want to take the blame for what John McCain will do, do you? Let me know.
